Carissa, a professional-ballet-dancer-
turned-lawyer, continues to support the arts. Carissa has experience dancing with the Oakland Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Dance Alive, and Vienna City Opera Ballet. Carissa began her training with her mother, Carla Lewis, and then continued with the Miami Ballet, and under Joan Miller of the Palm Beach Ballet. Carissa still loves taking ballet class.
“Ballet training teaches life skills such as commitment, dedication, hard work, attention to detail, grace, elegance, balance, control, and the importance of flexibility. When we learn to dance, however, the lessons learned allow all of our hard work to create magic. That’s when time stops, and we experience love, present moment consciousness, mindfulness, acceptance, and sheer joy from letting go.”
